Cars

Cars are a hobby for which I've always had more enthusiasm than time, and for one reason or other houses/flats with garages have always eluded me.

But now I'm installed in a nice new shiny house with a built in garage (all be it a modern house tiddler) I'm hoping to finally sort myself out something interesting.

So what is interesting? Well small cars with excellent handling have always been top of the list. Fast is good, but in these days of speed cameras every few miles not especially practical. Finally unusual but easy to look after/repair counts a few points.

Opinions on the favorite automotive companion have changed like the wind.
But I've finally reached a final decision after talking to Dave Smart of Funbuggies at Stoneleigh 06 Freestyle (review) Muddybuggies is an online owners club, with a very friendly forum.

One major consideration was cash, since I don't have very many beer tokens for toys.
But to be honest the Seven's (except caterhams) have all become rather ugly, and there are way too many of them. Some of the owners are also less than friendly and tend to be cliquey (though most of the people on locostbuilders are pretty friendly). Most other stuff is way too expensive, or too big for the garage.

Most refreshing thing about the owners of Freestyles is their lack of pretention about the cars, they are just there to have a laugh and maybe frighten a few of the established 'performance' cars, including 'proper' 4x4s.
